Free blogging sites register a domain based on the name of their site with your name added in the link. Services like WordPress and Blogger purchase their own domain name for $10 to $17 per year. While not free it's a good idea if you're blogging for a professional job.

Part 2 of 4: Create Your Free Blog

Go to wordpress.com, blogger.com or tumblr.com. and click "register" to create a new profile.
On Blogger, you will need to verify your Google profile in order to register a blog.
Create an online profile. You will need to provide your email address, name and password. Make sure the password is secure and you can remember it.
Choose a template. Consider different options. These three sites have hundreds of templates to choose from.
Verify your account. In order for your blog to become available to everyone, you need to go to your mail and follow the confirmation links.
