Create a Blog
Friends, exactly one year ago, on September 17, 2014, we launched the communication platform “Creating an operator together”. For a year now, we have been openly talking about the fact that we are creating a mobile operator together with users and for users. Absolutely every client can offer new functionality for Yota and thereby help make the operator even more convenient - and we will implement some of the ideas as far as possible. During the year of the project's existence, many worthy proposals were received, some of which received a start in life. And today we would like to talk about what has already been implemented and how many interesting things remain to be done.
Ability to establish a VPN connection on a smartphone
The first idea we embodied was the possibility of using a VPN connection on smartphones. To tell the truth, initially we did not plan to implement such functionality, and we were the first, but it turned out that VPN on smartphones is in great demand, especially among the readers of the blog on Habré - it was here in the comments to a post a year ago that such an idea was voiced. It was simply impossible not to respond to this, and VPN support was implemented fairly quickly.
Switching to Yota with keeping the number and without visiting the office
For many people, changing mobile carrier comes with a lot of inconvenience. This is because over the years of use, all kinds of services and accounts are attached to our numbers, our numbers are saved by various important people with whom we need to keep and keep in touch. Therefore, porting a number when changing a mobile operator is a key point for many. However, we already live in constant time trouble, “what if we have to go somewhere with a passport in order to transfer the number? No, there's no time for that right now." Users voiced this idea on the site, and we found a solution, and now the courier can bring an application for porting the number along with the SIM card.
SIM cards for tablet
In this case, users suggested issuing a separate type of SIM cards for tablets, which do not have a download speed limit when using mobile Internet. As the saying goes, it's said and done.
