Rating LJ Blogs
Today everyone is discussing that Top LiveJournal turned out to be fake. I think it's no secret to anyone that the current social capital is formed according to an opaque scheme. It seems like it takes into account visits to your blog by registered users. But, apparently, this does not always reflect the real picture. Look here:
I am in first place, Sergey Dolya is in second. Topic Lebedev is in 4th place, Adagamov, who stopped blogging altogether, is in 10th place. At the same time, his social cap is not much less than that of the others. Does this reflect the real picture? No.
On Alexa.com, only the first five of the top are available for free, but he did not spare money for the full version and published the original rating in its entirety.
As you can see, apart from me and Sadalsky there are no more coincidences. There are questions about this statistics, but it seems to me more objective, at least Lebedev has a well-deserved second place there.
It is not clear why he boasts that he has the best statistics in LiveJournal. Attendance is very good, but not the best.
If you have Google Analytics installed, you can compare the data for your blog.
In fact, the LJ rating and social capital as one of the main factors influencing it is nonsense that does not show the real picture. There is nothing to masturbate on social cap if you want to make money on a blog. You will be selling real traffic to advertisers, not numbers that LiveJournal has drawn for you.
