I brought my Phantom 2 quadcopter to a pumpkin farm. They have a cannon there that shoots pumpkins into the forest (they fly 60 meters at a speed of more than 300 km per hour). My daughter said: “It would be cool to shoot a video from the forest” ...

In general, I sent the quadcopter into the forest, directly opposite the trees, a little higher than their tops. I asked the guy who controlled the cannon where the pumpkins would fly, and he pointed to a small area where there were fewer leaves on the trees. I installed the copter 4 meters to the left of this place. And so this guy pulls the lever, and the pumpkin takes off, deviates a little to the right, and then ...

Then I didn't have time to react. A pumpkin crashed into a quadcopter, and here's a $500 loss.

I thought the GoPro was covered too, but when I accidentally discovered it 4 hours later, it was intact. The gimbal was not badly damaged, but the rod, which passes through one of the axes of rotation, shattered into pieces.

After I yelled “noooooo!” at the top of my lungs (I still need the quadcopter for work this week), I already calmly asked the guy what happened, why the pumpkin deviated from its usual course and why it flew lower than he said. He replied that it looked like someone loaded a smaller gourd into the cannon first, which affected the flight of his gourd. Just unbelievable bad luck, but I also fooled myself by placing the technique too close.

The total damage was $500. The interior of the copter was not damaged. The three propeller motors worked perfectly. The fourth needed to be soldered, and I needed a new case. The gimbal, as I mentioned earlier, was damaged. Oh, I also forgot to mention that the chassis also needed to be replaced. And I never found a new transmitter. The GoPro looked and acted like it never happened (only there was a piece of gourd stuck to it, but when I cleaned it off it looked great again).
