The main component of the life of any magician, regardless of the characteristics of his individual Path, is the opposition to demons.

Whether we consider demons to be an illusion, destructive parts of consciousness, fallen angels, whirlwinds, energy structures, or whatever else, the fact remains that something causes consciousness to act destructively, both in relation to itself and in relation to others (writes resource).

Even the Buddha, before reaching Enlightenment, opposed Mara, and on the Western Path such confrontations are an object of special attention.

The Myth described by us divides demons into two large groups - "integrated" into consciousness - Parasites and "external" in relation to it - Predators. And at different stages of his Path, the magician must resist both.

Let's figure out what it means to "resist" the demons.

No personality, like a microcosm, can be completely free from destructive manifestations due to the very nature of actual being, built according to the biner principle, the principle of the “Great Limit”, and including the unity and struggle of opposites. That is why liberation inevitably means the death of the personality.

At the same time, development becomes development when the circle turns into a spiral, and the cycle of cause-and-effect transitions leads not to the starting point, but to a similar point on a higher level.

This means that, in addition to the “circular” movement, it is also necessary to have a “vertical” movement, that is, a “third” force. This force, considered in the macrocosmic manifestation, was called by the Gnostics Epinoia, and the magicians of the "Golden Dawn", considering it mainly from microcosmic positions - Mezla.

The point is that an additional impulse is introduced into the opposition of the poles of each biner, which converts the energy of opposition into the energy of movement - just as energy is converted into work in the physical sense.

In order for the opposition of the poles to give energy for development, it is necessary that consciousness, that is, the converter of this energy, be between them, not belonging to any of them.

This position of consciousness is called “opposition”.

Consciousness "opposes" the demon not when it actively resists it, but when it disidentifies with it, without being identified with the opposite principle.

In other words, in order to resist the destructive force, one must “have nothing to do with it”, while remembering that such “common” can be both agreement with it and active resistance to it, for both unity and struggle ( in the active sense) are forms of unity.
