Board Games Blog
While Belarusian board game developers are still gathering courage to go out with their cool projects to publishers, I have to expect miracles from Russian and Ukrainian game developers. To my shame, I have not played a single game of Yuri Zhuravlev, who is one of the promising Russian board game authors. And by the way, his Viceroy is played even on the other side of the globe (money for the international release of this game was raised on Kickstarter).
Not so long ago, the World of Hobby publishing house released a new game by Yuri. This game is called Laar's Guild. I want to say right away that in absentia, before getting to know the game, I had not very high expectations. And what happened in the end - you will find out in this review!
I was taught to draw for 5 years. In parallel with the usual school, I also studied in the second half of the day at the art school. The ability to hold a brush and a pencil in my hands gave rise not only to some kind of my ability to draw, but also instilled a love for artists and their work. Of course, one of the first great artists our teachers told us about was Leonardo da Vinci. One teacher even brought me a huge book from his personal library about the life of this artist, so that I could read it during the winter holidays. And many years later, Ivan Tulovsky from Right Games sent me a game about Leonardo da Vinci. I just couldn't help but love this game, because it connects games and art.
It seems that just recently I unpacked the new Pixel Tactics game from the young publishing house GaGaGames. It was one of Gaga's first games, and I thought how cool that they decided to publish this game, because I wanted to try to play it for a long time. Knowing that several games belong to the Pixel Tactics series, I had hopes that Gaga would release other games in the future. I didn't have to wait long - at the moment I have the second part of the crazy pixel tactics on my desk, and I can't wait to quickly remove the film from the box and explore the possibilities of new fighters. How is the second series of the Pixel Tactics game different from the first? Now we will find out!
